| Note | This large sized terrestrial perennial lily which is endemic to Japan and
grows in mountane grassy field or forest. From the end of Edo era thorough Meiji era (late 19th - early 20th), wild species were over hunted and exported massively to European countries as a symbolic lily of Japan. Due to those, a lot of wild Goldband lily had been in danger of extinction. In recent years, housing land developments have been ravaging places of this lily rapidly. However cultivate Goldband lily can be found normally in a private yard, a botanical garden or a public park and so on. |
